MY REACTION:  Where do you suppose this tree is going?  And where do you think she was before?  I love this painting.  It is wide open.  Compositionally and in terms of storyline.  There is fine detail work here and it is a strong painting overall.  Very concise.

CONTENT:  For years, I was generally aware that my work was for you.  For others.  For an audience.  But lately I am seeing that much of my work is intended for me.  Not by my direction.  But wherever these images come FROM when they come to me.  That source.  The images that come now more often relate to my life.  Maybe they always did and I am just now seeing it.  But I don’t think so.  I think my work has changed.  Anyway, my art remains, as always, open to interpretation.  And I hope you find your own stories in each piece.  I certainly see my life in this one, though.  It cracks me up.

ARTISTIC CONCERNS:  This is a traditional brush painting.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:  This piece is on an oval gallery stretched canvas.  The painting continues around the staple-free sides.  It can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no matting or glass.  It could also be displayed unframed directly on the wall or on a small display easel.
