This beautiful girl belongs to one of my customers. I am really happy with the colors in this piece. It is a fun drawing to see in person. And it reproduces beautifully as a giclee print. How this drawing was created..... First, I used artists markers filled with colored India ink to create a vivid underpainting. Then I used oil pastels to layer luscious colors atop that base. Oil pastels are a bit tricky to work with. Some colors cover others, some remove the layer below them, and some mix with the colors below. So it takes lots of experience to learn the ins and outs of layering oil pastel colors. After I completed all of the color work, I used a dental tool to scratch through to the ink below in order to create sharper edges. Green Eyes is part of the small series I refer to as Lisa's Friends. Here they are....
