MY REACTION:  I think these fabulous little squares convey so much.  And I love the colors here.  I am especially intrigued by how important the color white is to me lately.

CONTENT:  That lone square has gumption, doesn't she?  This piece is a fun reminder for those of you contemplating some new adventure that you can do it!  You must do it!

ARTISTIC CONCERNS:  My work is getting looser and more expressive as I age.  I like that energy.  This piece is very lively precisely BECAUSE I did not tighten up all the lines and details.  This piece is also beautifully textured.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:  Gumption is on a deep gallery stretched canvas.  The painting continues around the staple-free sides.  It can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no matting or glass.  It could also be displayed unframed on a small display easel.  This one also shows well on the wall as it is, unframed.  Or it can sit on edge on a shelf or dresser or desk.
