I find this painting very comforting.  And like the other paintings from this group, I really don't want to explain it away.  I would rather let you see whatever you see in it.  It is a very sweet little painting that makes a lasting impression.  And it should frame up beautifully!

How Hanging In There was created.....   Gouache is like watercolor, only it is opaque rather than transparent.  I use this media in much the same manner that I use acrylics.  The difference is that these colors can be blended with water and are capable of much softer, more gradual transitions.  This media is also less forgiving than traditional acrylic paint and requires more forethought and more patience.  After the gouache painting dried, I used a tiny pen - the nib measures just three tenths of one millimeter - to add the words and key lines.  The ink used is archival and fade resistant.

Hanging In There was painted on acid-free heavy weight paper.  You will want to frame this piece to protect your investment.  To frame your new painting affordably, you can pick up a ready-made frame at your local home or discount store and then bring the frame with the painting to a custom-framer.  The framer can mat the painting to fit the frame.  *** Please note:  This painting has a slim border of white paper on all sides.  It can be "floated" on a neutral background when framing or you may choose to mat right up to the edges of the image.
