MY REACTION:  When it is dark out, even the slightest hint of light reminds you that darkness invariably fades.  This is a beautiful lush painting in person.  Dense and expressive.

CONTENT:  I wanted to fill the bird in and make her glow, but the truth is that hope and redemption are rarely that apparent.  God hides in the subtleties.  All that matters is that the dove is there for you to find when you are actually looking for her.

ARTISTIC CONCERNS:  This is a knife and brush painting.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:  This piece is on a stretched canvas.  The fabric was stapled to the sides of the stretchers, but the staples are entirely covered with paint and do not detract.  This painting would display nicely unframed either directly on the wall or on a small display stand.
