This piece is so pretty and delicate.  It reminds me of some fancy lemon dessert.  An elegant sweet.  The little dangling heart is in motion, but I get the sense it will come to rest soon.  And the thread looks long enough that when this heart stops swinging, I think it will touch the ground.

How Holding was created.....   This is a traditional brush painting.  I did much of the work with 18/0 detail brushes.

 

(The sides are painted so you can display your new artwork unframed if you like.  This is a digital photo.  The detailed scans are more accurate.)

Holding was painted on a wooden board created specifically for use by artists. It has a recessed slot in the back allowing you to hang it flush with the wall. The sides of the board have been painted as well so that this piece would look wonderful displayed unframed either directly on the wall or on a small stand or decorative table-top easel.
