This pretty, almost delicate, abstract painting is filled with sweet surprises. Bits of unexpected color peaking out here and there. Layers of soft washes, interesting linework. And that juicy red heart. This beautiful bit of eyecandy is meant for anyone that struggles sometimes to see the bigger forces at work in the world. If you have a tendency to forget that help will come, that your future will find you, that your pain will pass, then maybe seeing this painting from time to time might remind you that you are not alone. I am right there with you, my friend. And a whole lot of other folks are, too. The words in this piece read: Don't give up. How Hold On was created..... This soft warm painting was mostly completed with traditional paint brushes. I believe I may have used palette knives for the very first layer, though. And I used a dental tool to scratch around the heart for emphasis.
(The image continues around the sides so you can display this painting unframed if you like. This is a digital photo. The scans above are more accurate.) Hold On was painted on a heavy hard wooden board and it has a sawtooth hanger attached to the back for hanging. The sides of the board have been painted so this piece would look wonderful displayed unframed either directly on the wall or on a small, decorative table-top easel. This piece also sits nicely on edge and could be displayed that way on a desk or bookshelf. PLEASE NOTE: Because this board is a really hard surface, the painting is delicate and could be easily scratched. I will apply gloss varnish to this piece to protect it if you request varnish at the time of payment.
