As my paintings become increasingly personal and as I reach deeper for inspiration, I find myself less and less comfortable writing about the content in some of my recent pieces.  I am happy to talk about the execution.  But I feel some of these new pieces are so symbolic and poetic that I risk "deflowering" them somehow if I try to explain their content.  Does that make sense?  This is a gorgeous new painting that makes me ache inside a little.  It makes me really happy, too, though.  I cannot tell you much more than that.

This one has beautiful organic textures and soft subtle hues and some lovely fine detail work.  The words read, "You don't have to understand."

I am hopeful this unusual image will bring comfort and acceptance to the home of some fellow seeker out there.

How Holy Holy was created...  This is a traditional brush painting.  There are many layers of color built up over time.  The fine details were created with an 18/0 spotter brush.

(The image continues around the staple-free sides so you can display your new artwork unframed.  This is a digital photo, the scans above are more accurate.)

Holy Holy was painted on a gallery-wrapped canvas with .75" staple-free sides.  This piece would look wonderful displayed unframed directly on the wall or sitting on a small display stand.  Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it required no matting or glass.

You don't have to understand.
