Howling Pig

This fabulous unique little pig makes me very very happy. He has a beautiful expressive face. And the painting is filled with bright colors that pop. As well as some strong linework. There is also a single sentence painted in tiny black letters that reads, "I howl when I feel the need." Because I think that form of expression should be available to all of us, not just wolves.

I would like for this original emotional pig to bring smiles and freedom to some fellow wild animal out there.

How Howling Pig was created..... This piece was a lot of fun to paint. After the black gesso primer dried, I used my fingers and crinkled paper towels to apply the lovely mottled oranges and yellows and pinks and reds. Then I used brushes and a neutral off-white shade to mark off the square that would eventually contain my little pig friend. Finally, I used tiny detail brushes to create the pig and the scene he inhabits and to add the words.

Howling Pig was painted on a rigid canvas panel. The edges have been painted, so this piece looks lovely displayed just as it is on a small stand or decorative easel. Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no glass or matting.
