MY REACTION:  I am surprisingly attached to this painting.  I find it very pleasing, comforting, calming.  It makes me feel good.  That rabbit feels like an old friend.

CONTENT:  Rabbits often appear in Native American folk lore as symbols of fear.

ARTISTIC CONCERNS:  This is a beautiful lush piece.  With soft subtle hues.  Unexpected bits of color.  It is very loose and expressive.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:  This piece is on a stretched canvas.  The fabric was stapled to the sides of the stretchers, but the staples are entirely covered with paint, so they do not detract.  In fact, I am developing an affinity for these particular canvases.  I like showing the construction of a thing.  What lies beneath.  My pieces are never meant to be "pictures" that pretend to capture something from life.  They are constructs.  Other worlds.  And I like having the staples there to remind me of how the actual canvases come together.  But I do paint over the staples, so this is a finished work suitable for display without framing.  This painting would display nicely unframed either directly on the wall or on a small display stand.  Or if you do choose to frame this painting, you could do so easily and affordably as it requires no matting or glass.

God says we will be fine.
