This is one of those paintings that I cannot really explain.  I know why I made the choices I made when I was creating it, but if I write about those choices here, it might influence how you see the piece and I do not want to do that.  There are some interesting dynamics at play in this piece.  Gorgeous soft colors and strange exciting lines.  I am hopeful it will speak to one specific person out there and make you smile.

The words in this painting read:  "It just sort of happened."

How Inevitable was created.....   Gouache is like watercolor, only it is opaque rather than transparent.  I use this media in much the same manner that I use acrylics.  The difference is that these colors can be blended with water and are capable of much softer, more gradual transitions.  This media is also less forgiving than traditional acrylic paint and requires more forethought and more patience.  After the gouache painting dried, I used a tiny pen - the nib measures just two tenths of one millimeter - to add the words and the lines.  The ink used is archival and fade resistant.

Inevitable was painted on acid-free heavy weight paper.  You will want to frame this piece to protect your investment.  To frame your new painting affordably, you can pick up a ready-made frame at your local home or discount store and then bring the frame with the painting to a custom-framer.  The framer can mat the painting to fit the frame.  *** Please note:  This painting has a slim border of white paper on all sides.  It can be "floated" on a neutral background when framing or you may choose to mat right up to the edges of the image.
