Instinctual

This is one of my favorite paintings from 2006. I am always striving for this kind of natural loose free painting. Pure expression. Like a memory. Or maybe a dream. I love the rich layered colors of this piece and the lines, too. It all came together so nicely.

The words in this image read, "Trust your nature. Trust what you know. And go where you must go."

I hopeful this lush fertile painting will bring inspiration and courage to the home of some fellow migratory flier out there.

How Instinctual was created... I used palette knives, dental tools, my fingers, a soft cloth, and a wide variety of brushes to bring this lovely piece to life.

Instinctual was painted on a large 10" x 20" professional quality gallery-wrapped canvas with deep 1.5" sides. This piece would look wonderful displayed unframed directly on the wall. Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it required no matting or glass.
