I cannot describe how much this painting affects me.  I love this piece.  I love the dog, I love the words, I love the colors and the lines.  My only concern is that I hope it does not offend my male customers.  But this piece needed to be made and it had to include those words.

I often browse the ads for pets that need new homes.  And I am surprised by how often it says that dogs - both male and female dogs - are fearful of men.  It occurred to me that I have real trouble trusting men and I think that many women struggle with this.  (I wonder, do men struggle with trusting other men, too?)  Anyway, I think this emotional painting gave me permission to accept my feelings and not think badly of myself or feel guilty.

Hopefully, this unusual, colorful painting will brighten the home of some fellow dog lover out there with similar sensitivities and a healthy sense of humor.  (But I will not be sad if it does not sell real soon because I love having this piece around!)

How Issues was created...  This is purely a brush painting with many many many layers of color.  I used tiny 18/0 spotter brushes to paint the beautiful dog and the words.

(The image continues around the staple-free sides so you can display your new artwork unframed.  This is a digital photo, the scans above are more accurate.)

Issues was painted on a gallery-wrapped canvas with .75" staple-free sides.  This piece would look wonderful displayed unframed directly on the wall.  Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it required no matting or glass.
