This image is so soothing for me. It calms me. This piece features a soft expressive background painting and a finely detailed bird soaring through the foreground. I really enjoyed painting this one and I get a lot of comfort from viewing it, too. I am hopeful that Looking Up will bring peace and inspiration to your home or office for years to come. How Looking Up was created..... This is a traditional brush painting. The detailed bits were painted with an 18/0 spotter brush. This painting is on a gorgeous panel of Belgian linen bonded with traditional rabbit-skin glue to a ¼” thick piece of masonite. The linen was primed with top-grade, old school gesso. It is the perfect surface for detailed painting. The texture of linen is so much finer than canvas. The painting continues around the edges. Looking Up can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no glass or matting. Or is can be displayed on a small decorative easel or plastic stand. *** I will include a new clear plastic stand with this painting at no charge if you request one at the time of payment.
