Lucky Stars is a painting as much about the experience of wishing and of being grateful as it is about the idea of stars or even the idea of art.  There are many layers to the unexpected gem.  I do not want to write too much about it for fear of smothering some of its magic.  But I am hopeful this painting will bring light and perspective to the home of some fellow believer out there.

How this original work of art was created.....    This piece has a little of everything happening.  There is palette knife painting and brush painting and finger-painting.  There are areas built up with modeling paste and areas where I abraded the surface with dental tools and knives.  There is tight detailed work with fine lines and sharp highlights and there is bold loose expressionist work with wonderful timeless energy.  This is a beautiful rich original painting filled with layers of texture and color and memories of dreams.

Lucky Stars was painted on a rigid canvas panel.  The edges of the panel have been painted, so this piece looks lovely displayed just as it is on a small stand or decorative easel.   Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no glass or matting.

I thank my lucky stars.
