It is so easy to keep focusing on what needs to be done and to miss out entirely on enjoying what you have accomplished! If I could give one gift to myself and to everyone I care about it would be time to take stock of our many experiences and achievements. Time to feel our feelings and to recognized how much we have been changed by our journeys. I hope this unusual little painting warms your home with subtle shades of satisfaction and peaceful acceptance. How Long Way was created..... this is predominantly a traditional brush painting. I did use a dental tool to scratch through some layers, though. To give it a roughed up feel.
(The sides are painted so you can display your new artwork unframed if you like.) Long Way was painted on a wooden board created specifically for use by artists. It has a recessed slot in the back allowing you to hang it flush with the wall. The sides of the board have been painted as well so that this piece would look wonderful displayed unframed either directly on the wall or on a small, decorative table-top easel. This piece also sits nicely on edge and could be displayed that way on a desk or bookshelf.
