Acrylic on gallery stretched canvas

The words in this piece read:  I marked the spot.

(Enlarged to show details.)

I think too often we rush by meaning in order to stay in motion.  This painting contains the words, "I marked the spot."  Someone took the time to plant a flag here.  To mark some time, some event of meaning.  Maybe they will return to this place.  Visit the flag and what it represents.  Or maybe they marked the spot in order to move on.  To leave it behind.  To say, "I was there and I spent a moment recognizing what happened and now I will mark it and let it go."  This piece has all sorts of hidden tidbits of color.  It is a pretty, luminous, inspirational image.

This piece is richer in person, more full.

How Marked was created.....   This is a traditional brush painting.

(The painting continues around the staple free sides.)

This piece was painted on a gallery stretched canvas primed with black acrylic gesso.  The image continues around the staple-free sides.  This painting may be displayed unframed either directly on the wall or on a decorative display easel.  Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it required no matting or glass.

I marked the spot.
