My heart feels like marshland. Like a bog or a swamp. My whole life feels that way! Complicated and lush and wild and soft and squishy and wet and rotting and filled with bugs, too. I love this little painting. It feels like home. I hope this unusual piece brings comfort and smiles to the home of some fellow bog-dweller out there. The words in this painting read: Soft and rotting ~ fertile and wild How Marshland was created..... After the black acrylic gesso primer dried, I used dry brushes, wet brushes and a soft cloth to layer color over the course of several days. I used a dental tool to scratch in lines for emphasis. And tiny detail brushes to paint the accent lines and the marsh scene and the words. Marshland was painted on a thin piece of masonite. The edges have been painted and this piece looks lovely displayed unframed on a small plastic stand or on a display easel. Otherwise, it can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no glass or matting.
