Who doesn't need a magic wand, hmm?  We all need help remembering that magic and miracle can and do happen.  That we can have happiness, contentment, joy, and satisfaction.  This lush deeply hued gem is a nice treat for your eyes.  And the magical promise of that wand is a nice treat for you spirit.

How Magic for You was created.....   First, I primed this board with black acrylic gesso.  Then I used my fingers to push acrylic paint into these wonderfully organic and irregular raised ridges that became the lines of this piece.  I let those ridges dry.  Then the first layer of color is all fingerpainting.  That is where the texturing comes from.  I mix colors by patting the tips of my fingers in my palette first and then across the surface of the board.  As I lift my fingertips from the surface, they pull the paint up into tiny ridges and patterns.  It is a lovely affect.  The next layers on this piece were applied with palette knives and brushes.

This piece was painted on a wooden board created specifically for use by artists. It has a recessed slot in the back allowing you to hang it flush with the wall. The sides of the board have been painted as well so that this piece would look wonderful displayed unframed either directly on the wall or on a small, decorative table-top easel.
