This is a beautiful serene landscape.  A peaceful meditation.  I created it as a reminder that moonlight and nature are great medicine for the soul.  They restore hope.  No matter what is weighing on my heart and mind, I feel lighter when I am outside at night under the stars.  Because nature speaks to me more clearly in the night.  And I remember myself as a part of something larger.  And that helps.

I would like for this luminous landscape to inspire you and bring hope and comfort to your home or office.

How Moonlight was created.....   After the black acrylic primer dried, I used a palette knife and my fingers to apply fine artist-grade stucco.  I built up the land and the tree and the moon and even the tiny stars with this fabulous stucco stuff.  That layer took a long time to fully dry.  Once it was ready, I used a variety of brushes to create the quiet scene and to add the word HOPE.

Moonlight was painted on a professional quality gallery-wrapped canvas with deep 1.5" sides.  This piece would look wonderful displayed unframed directly on the wall.  Or it can be shown on a small decorative easel.  Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it required no matting or glass.

This piece also sits well on edge and can be displayed that way.  Please let me know if you plan to display this painting in a manner that might involve regular handling.  I will happily apply several coats of non-yellowing varnish to protect the surface if you request it.

Hope.
