MY REACTION:  Ummm....   what can I say?  I have been needing to paint this piece for a while now.  I do not suspect it will have a huge audience.  Maybe veterinarians and groomers?  Other dog lovers?  Folks who appreciate the quirky humor?  Folks who love blue?  This is a bold vibrant painting and it does draw viewers in.

CONTENT:  Mostly, I think this piece is about my lifelong fear of fleas and ticks.  I am terrified of them.  And I found it was cathartic to paint a flea.  On another level, I think I was also working out some feelings about my ex-boyfriend, too.  Also cathartic.

ARTISTIC CONCERNS:  This piece has knife and brush painting.
