MY REACTION:  This is a strangely satisfying piece.  My eyes are always drawn to it.  I do not expect it to be so compelling, but it is.  Unusually masculine for my work.  And fresh.

CONTENT:  I see two distinct possible readings of this piece.  Maybe you will see others.  But I see the view here that humanity and the hearts of all human beings are a mystery.  And that we as a species would benefit by questioning the actions of mankind.  OR I see the reading that men - the male half of humanity - are a mystery and that men often leave their own hearts unknown.

ARTISTIC CONCERNS:  This is a combination of brush painting, knife painting and fingerpainting.  The word, "Mystery", was engraved in the surface with a dental tool.

But what if you are wrong?

Mystery.

Men.
