This painting is noticeably textured and you may see "hot spots" where light is reflected off the surface of the most textured areas.  Additional detailed scans are available on request.

This painting is so warm and luminous.  It is a striking little landscape that really commands attention.  With fun fiery colors and rich textures.

I have always been captivated by sunrises and sunsets.  By the in-between-times.  And I miss those times far too often because I am busy scurrying about planning for the future or dissecting the past.  What a waste.  So I painted this colorful reminder to help some other busybody out there to remember that life passes quickly and we have to savor our experiences here one day at a time.

How No Rush was created.....   After the dark brown acrylic gesso primer dried, I used a palette knife to create a wild expressionist landscape.  The sky area was filled with various shades of green and the land area was filled with reds.  One that nicely textured underpainting dried, I used wide soft brushes and a dry cloth to apply washes of pink and magenta and red across the sky.  Then, before that layer dried fully, I used damp paper towels to rub the pinks and reds off of the area that would become the peaceful tree.  Next, I layered greens on the land and finally I used tiny detail brushes to add the highlights and lowlights, the lines and the words.

No Rush was painted on a thin masonite rectangle primed with burnt umber gesso.  The edges have been painted black and this piece looks lovely displayed unframed on a small clear plastic stand.  I will include one of these stands for free if you request it at the time of payment.  Otherwise, No Rush can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no glass or matting.  Or it can be shown on a small decorative easel if you prefer.

One day at a time.
