Graphite on heavy white watercolor paper

This is my first graphite piece in ages and I am really excited
about it! This luminous Angel is offering her own little bit
of light back to the sky. Because gratitude is what gives life
meaning. This piece has lovely subtle tones, fine sharp detail work, and graceful fluid lines. It should frame up beautifully and lend a meditative spot of calm to any home or office. How Offering was created..... I recently discovered what is a new medium to me. Water-soluble graphite. It comes in pencil form, but can be wetted with a brush and used almost like ink. I sketched Offering in pencil and then used a brush to flesh the image out with transparent layers. I then finished the piece by re-emphasizing key details and lines with the pencil. Offering was completed on acid-free heavy white watercolor paper. You will want to frame this piece to protect your investment. The surface of this piece has been sprayed with fixative, but it should still be handled with care. One affordable way to frame this unique drawing would be to purchase a standard-sized 11" x 14" frame at your local home store and then bring the frame and the drawing together to a custom-framer. Ask the framer to mat the drawing to fit the frame. That would give you a decent sized mat border on all sides and would allow for a lovely presentation of your new drawing.
