Eggs, eggs, eggs. This hen is tired of eggs. She wants more from life! But she is troubled by her ambitions. The other hens seem perfectly content to sit on their nests every single day. This hen is patiently waiting for her wanderlust to pass. Do you think she will settle down and find that egglaying is enough? Or do you think she will crack under the pressure of trying to pretend that egglaying hasn't gotten boring and dull for her? Maybe run away to Hollywood? Or join the circus? How One Hen was created..... After the black acrylic gesso primer dried, I used palette knives and dry brushes to apply many layers of color over the course of several days. I let each layer dry before applying the next. Finally, I used a tiny detail brush to paint the accent lines, the wonderful hen, and the words. One Hen was painted on a thin, lightly textured masonite square. The edges have been painted and this piece looks lovely displayed unframed on a small plastic stand or on a display easel. Otherwise, it can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no glass or matting.
