Original

I thought it was time for another dancing chicken! This one is very happy just marching along to some different drummer. And it has some really exciting colors, too. I had a lot of fun painting this piece. Along with the beautiful vibrant colors and the fun detailed chicken, this image also features the words, I am an original". I am hopeful this bright little gem will act as a reminder to some other creative soul out there that being different is something to celebrate!

How Original was created..... This is a traditional brush painting with many many layers of light washes and crisp detail work.

Original was painted on a thin masonite square primed with black gesso. The edges have been painted and this piece looks lovely displayed unframed on a small clear plastic stand. I will include one of these stands for free if you request it at the time of payment. Otherwise, Original can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no glass or matting. Or it can be shown on a small decorative easel if you prefer.
