I am so happy with this painting.  It makes me feel good.  Painting it felt good.  The flower feels just right to me.  Like all living things are that flower.  That vulnerable.  That transitory.  And the layers of color fall so naturally.  As if time had eroded through top layers maybe.  I suppose this piece could be political.  I do not often make work that references current political issues, but I do know deep inside - in place I try not to look - that our planet is dying.  And she needs us now to care for her.  To protect her from further damage.  Of course, I am fine if you read this piece in a more personal manner as well.  I never have a set agenda with my work.  I never have any agenda at all.  I just paint what comes.  And I am glad this one appeared.

The words in this piece read:  Please protect me.

How Our Future was created...  I used palette knives, a dental tool, a soft cloth, and a wide range of brushes to complete this pretty colorful piece.

(The image continues around the deep staple-free sides so you can display your new artwork unframed.  This is a digital photo.  The scans above and below are more accurate.)

Our Future was painted on a 5.5" x 5.5" professional quality gallery-wrapped canvas with deep 1.25" sides.  This piece would look wonderful displayed unframed directly on the wall.  Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it required no matting or glass.
