I really like this piece.  It is a little unusual, even uncomfortable, but it is also compelling.  It draws me in and makes me want to look again.  I have had this painting in my studio - in various stages of completion - for weeks and my eyes always come back here.  The colors are so unexpected.  And the composition is engaging, too.  Those little symbols hang like jewelry.

The words in this painting read:  Love.  Faith.  Nature.

I am hopeful this bold warm abstract will bring you comfort and challenge you to always keep paring your life down to the few elements that matter most.

How Paring Down was created...  I worked on this canvas off-and-on for several weeks and the result is a beautiful layered expressive abstract.  I used palette knives, a soft cloth, dry brushes, wet brushes and teeny 18/0 detail brushes to complete this pretty piece.

(The staple-free sides have been painted so you can display your new artwork unframed.  This is a digital photo, the scans above are more accurate.)

Paring Down was painted on a 8" x 16" gallery-wrapped canvas with staple-free sides.  This piece would look wonderful displayed unframed directly on the wall or on a small stand or easel.  Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it required no matting or glass.

Love.  Faith.  Nature.
