I
love this little landscape. I find it very soothing.
Very peaceful. Moonlight makes the whole world right again. This piece was painted as my entry in a fun little contest for artists that sell on eBay. The assignment was to create a monochromatic original work of art in purple. How Pines was created..... Gouache is like watercolor, only it is opaque rather than transparent. I use this media in much the same manner that I use acrylics. The difference is that these colors can be blended with water and are capable of much softer, more gradual transitions. This media is also less forgiving than traditional acrylic paint and requires more forethought and more patience. (Which is why I do not use it very often! Patience and forethought are hard for me.) Pines was painted on Arches acid-free heavy weight paper. Arches is made in France and it is the finest watercolor paper you can buy. This paper will not yellow or discolor as it ages. You will want to frame this piece to protect your investment. To frame your new painting affordably, you can pick up a ready-made frame at your local home or discount store and then bring the frame with the painting to a custom-framer. The framer can mat the painting to fit the frame.
