Pleasure

6" x 6" x 1.5"

Acrylic on deep gallery-wrapped canvas

(Enlarged to show details)

(I love the colors on the sides of this piece so much, I had to scan a side so you could see.)

(The image continues around the deep staple-free sides so you can display your new artwork unframed.  This is a rather dull crummy digital photo.  The scans above and below are more accurate.)

This is my very first fairy painting and I am so excited about this piece.  I am hopeful more fairies will visit my work in the future, too.  It was especially surprising that my first fairy turned out to be male.  But isn't he lovely?  This pretty androgynous boy is named Pleasure.  In the US, we think of pleasure as a naughty word.  A guilty word.  And I suspect that attitude is behind out mushrooming problem with depression, anxiety and addiction.  Our souls are desperate for joy!

This painting is filled with soft lush color and lovely organic lines.  It also has some great detail work, too.  I am hopeful that Pleasure will bring warmth and joy to the home of some fellow dreamer out there.

How this original painting was created...  Pleasure is a traditional brush painting.  There are many layers of color built up over time.  The fine details were created with an 18/0 spotter brush.

Pleasure was painted on a professional quality gallery-wrapped canvas with deep 1.5" sides.  This piece would look wonderful displayed unframed directly on the wall.  Or it can be shown on a small decorative easel.  Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it required no matting or glass.
