(Details)

This is one of my favorite pieces in a very long time.  I love this painting.  In a way that defies explanation.  It is a gorgeous, mysterious, funny, symbolic image and I hope it will bring a bit of comfort to some fellow odd-ball out there.  I do not want to explain this one any further than that, but I will say that the colors and textures here are even more spectacular in person than these scans can convey.

The words in this piece read, "This is how I live."

How Precarious was created.....   This is primarily a palette knife painting.  I built up the bottom part first and then after that dried, I painted the sky.  Then I went in with brushes and painted the lines and the shape and added highlights and shadows.  I used tiny detail brushes to make sure the lines were just-so and to add the words.

(The staple-free sides have been painted black.  This is a digital photo.  The scans above and below are more accurate.)

Precarious was painted on an 8" x 10" gallery wrapped canvas.  The staple-free sides have been painted black allowing you to display this piece unframed if you like.  It looks beautiful hung on the wall as it is or set on a small decorative easel.  Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no matting or glass.
