Not only is the content in this painting special, the execution is as well.  The wings of this Angel are three dimensional.  They were created with fine artist-grade ceramic stucco before the rest of the painting ever unfolded.  And it was thrilling for me as an artist to see how this image miraculously appeared around those two majestic wings.  This is hands-down my favorite image from my ongoing Angel series.  Protected is a special painting and it warms me each time I see it.  This piece calms my heart.  And I hope it will bring you some bright, inspired magic as well.

The words, "We are protected..." were painted in tiny black letters in the upper left part of this painting.

How Protected was created.....   The sides and edges of this canvas have been heavily textured with fine artist-grade stucco.  The wings were created from this same material using palette knives and my fingers.  Once that textured underpainting dried, I used a wide variety of tools to create the beautiful richly layered abstract.  Then, once all of those layers had dried thoroughly, I used tiny detail brushes to create the very special Angle and to paint the candles and the words.

Protected was painted on a 6" x 12" stretched canvas.  The sides of this piece DO have staples but they are covered by layers of texture and color and they do not show at all.  This painting looks lovely displayed as it is without framing either directly on the wall or on a small decorative easel or stand.  Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no matting or glass.
