I love this little painting. It is an odd one, in a way. But it has grown on me. The colors work so well together and that pumpkin is so gloriously orange and then those odd words just click for me. I do not know if they will for you or not. I know they are a bit strange. Hopefully this unusual little painting will bring smiles to some fellow Halloween fan out there. Someone who shares my love of Jack-o-lanterns. How Pumpkin was created..... First, I primed this canvas with black acrylic gesso. Then I used palette knives to apply some thick underpainting in wild colors. I scraped away the paint from a small "window" area and left that smooth. Once all that dried, I used traditional paint brushes to bring this image to life.
(The staple-free sides are painted to match so you can display this painting unframed if you like.) This piece was created on a gallery stretched canvas primed with black acrylic gesso. The image continues around the staple-free sides. This painting may be displayed unframed either directly on the wall or on a decorative display easel. Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it required no matting or glass. |

Carve me up, please.
