Quiet

I sometimes feel as though living in cities is what ails us. We have no horizon line. No space. No openness. No place from which to view the largeness of this world. To view the miracle of light. No feel our own smallness and vulnerability. This image is a reminder that being here, being alive to witness this place and this time, that can be enough. If you have complications cluttering your life and preventing you from enjoying the simplest of pleasures, let those worries go. The world will not end if you let those balls you have been juggling fall to the ground. Find your place in the light.

How Quiet was created..... This piece has layers and layers of painting. All traditional brush painting. Many thin washes. I finished it using a tiny detail brush to paint that lovely house and to add the words.

Quiet was painted on a rigid canvas panel. The edges of the panel have been painted, so this piece looks lovely displayed just as it is on a small stand or decorative easel. Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no glass or matting.

SPECIAL NOTE: This site is gigantic. And it evolved over the course of ten years and 2,000 paintings. So far as I know, this is the largest single-artist portfolio website on the internet. Very exciting, but I am a technological boob and I maintain this site all by myself. That means there are glitches here and there. Some pages are outdated.
