Cut paper
4.75" x 6.75"
| This was my second ever attempt at cut paper. It was done with a pack of lightfast colored paper, an Exacto knife, and a glue stick. I did not draw anything out first, just started cutting. All the lines you see are layers. So for instance, the buffalo's head was assembled, then glued to black paper, then I would trim around it leaving just a teensy edge of black. That was then glued to the buffalo's body which was "outlined" in the same manner before I glued it to the buffalo's legs and then glued the whole thing to black and trimmed around it again to leave the final outline. The end result was an interesting three dimensional "painting". My eyes hurt for a long time after, though. Cutting that small is hard. I remember being very crabby when I worked on this one and I have not been in a hurry to do another. |
