ABOUT THIS PIECE: This is a beautiful luminous landscape to view in person. With layers of warm color. And little surprises here and there. This piece has wonderful contrast. And some helpful words. The words read, "We do not decide how warm the sun will be." There is a tendency for folks today to imagine we control everything. And if our lives are not perfect it is because we are not working hard enough or we do not believe strongly enough or we are not open to "God's gifts" or whatever. Nonsense I say. We do not decide how warm the sun will be. The sun decides how warm WE will be. Yes, there are things within out control. How we react to life, our attitudes, our gratitude, how we experience loss and struggle and the rest. But there are also forces beyond our control as well. So stop beating yourself up for the reality of your world. All we can do is appreciate the sun when she shines and endure the darkness when it falls. And enjoy the whole of life as the gift that it is. HOW THIS PAINTING WAS MADE: I used palette knives and brushes to create this gorgeous expressive landscape. DISPLAY OPTIONS: This piece could be easily and affordably framed as it requires no matting or glass. Or it would also display nicely sitting on a small decorative easel or stand just as it is, no framing needed. I will include a small plastic stand for free if you request one at the time of payment.
