MY REACTION:  To me at least, this piece is far more powerful BECAUSE of the softness and subtleties.  The understated complexities hidden throughout.  Sometimes bold things are too easily dismissed.  And the soft quiet stuff can sneak up on you.  This is a very rich and satisfying painting.

CONTENT:  Recovering is hard.  Harder maybe than building.  Harder even then growing.  Because recovering requires us to swallow the trauma and change it into growth or something just as good.  And because recovering is so subtle.  BUT - and this is really important - recovering is more powerful than building or growing or whatever you like.  Because it is stronger.  Harder won.  It is also more permanent.  When you have recovered from loss or trauma, really recovered, you are never in danger of losing that new growth, that new power.  It will always be with you.  Unlike easier simpler lessons.  Recovering tempers the steel of our souls.

ARTISTIC CONCERNS:  I used brushes, palette knives, and my fingers to create this beautiful expressive piece.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:  This piece is on a rigid canvas panel.  It can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no matting or glass.  It could also be displayed unframed on a small display easel.

The changes are subtle.
