This subtle piece leaves a surprisingly lasting impression with me.  The symbols and colors have stuck around in my brain.  It is a more powerful image than I thought when I first created it.  This is one of those paintings that I feel strongly was created specifically for one individual out there.  Someone who has survived a great loss and is about to grow wings and soar to new unimagined heights.

How Redemption was created.....   This is a traditional brush painting.  I layered many many shades of blues and grays and purples and then I used a tiny 18/0 detail brushes to paint those sharp lines and the words.

This piece is on a gorgeous panel of Belgian linen bonded with traditional rabbit-skin glue to a ¼” thick piece of masonite. The linen was primed with top-grade, old school gesso. It is the perfect surface for detailed painting. The texture of linen is so much finer than canvas.

The painting continues around the edges.

Redemption can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no glass or matting.  Or is can be displayed on a small decorative easel or plastic stand.
