MY REACTION: Ooh this piece is scrumptious in person. Very sweet and soulful. The colors are just lovely. And that dove is especially uplifting. CONTENT: I suppose the easiest interpretation of this piece would be to say it is about death. Or life after death. And certainly that is valid. But I think it is also about leaving any life or experience behind. About being reborn in any sense. About that time between the painful lessons learned and the next trials that likely lay ahead. ARTISTIC CONCERNS: This is a traditional brush painting. WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW: This piece is on a deep gallery stretched canvas. The painting continues around the staple-free sides. It can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no matting or glass. It could also be displayed unframed on a small display easel. This one also shows well on the wall as it is, unframed. Or it can sit on edge on a shelf or dresser or desk.
