MY REACTION:  This piece has beautiful layers of color.  And a great vibrant sense of possibility.  I have been returning to some old interests lately, one of them is meditation.  Such a simple idea.  Sit still and breathe.  Pay attention.  Such a radical idea, too.  That we could be healed and empowered without buying anything or swallowing a pill.  Just by sitting and listening.  The whole world seems brighter.

ARTISTIC CONCERNS:  This is a traditional brush painting with a really adventurous composition.  I took some risks with this one.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:  This piece is on a deep gallery stretched canvas with staple-free sides.  Rise Up would display nicely unframed either directly on the wall or on a small display stand or standing on edge.  If you prefer a frame, this piece could be easily and affordably framed as it requires no matting or glass.
