The words read:  Yank it out.

ABOUT THIS PIECE:  I have begun a wonderful new series of abstract paintings that are loose and bold and experiential.  All about paint and color and emotion.  Less conscious than my usual work.  And like Rorschach ink blots, they hold limitless stories so each viewer can find their own path through.  Like clouds, too!

I am so surprised by the reaction I am getting to this series.  Folks love to tell me what they see in these.  It is almost as if people are hungry for a chance to find their own visions.  To see things that are not already pre-defined.  To see without being told what to see.  I am not sure if that make sense, but I am really enjoying these Rorschach pieces.  It is HARD for me to not impose my own visions on them, to allow them to remain undefined all the way to the end.  But I love it.

This is an especially interesting piece.  The words in this are not what I expected at all!  I thought I was painting entirely different words.  But these are the ones that came.  And these words make me especially fond of this painting.

The words read, "Yank it out."

Here are the other three pieces in the Rorschach series so far...

HOW IT WAS MADE:  This piece has equal parts brush painting and palette knife painting.  I used a teeny tiny 20/0 detail brush to add the words and those luscious lines.

(The staple-free sides have been painted so you can display your new artwork unframed.  This is a digital photo, the scans above are more accurate.)

DISPLAY OPTIONS:  This piece could be easily and affordably framed as it requires no matting or glass.  Or it would also display nicely either on the wall or sitting on a small decorative easel just as it is, no framing needed.  The image continues around the staple-free sides for a clean finished look.

Yank it out.
