ABOUT THIS PIECE: I have begun a wonderful new series of abstract paintings that are loose and bold and experiential. All about paint and color and emotion. Less conscious than my usual work. And like Rorschach ink blots, they hold limitless stories so each viewer can find their own path through. Like clouds, too! I am so surprised by the reaction I am getting to this series. Folks love to tell me what they see in these. It is almost as if people are hungry for a chance to find their own visions. To see things that are not already pre-defined. To see without being told what to see. I am not sure if that make sense, but I am really enjoying these Rorschach pieces. It is HARD for me to not impose my own visions on them, to allow them to remain undefined all the way to the end. But I love it. The colors in this one are delicious! As is the "roughness" of the paint application and the general expressive feel of this piece. There are stories here. You will have to tell them, though. I plead the fifth. I do think this image will bring you good fortune, though. Don't you? Here are the pieces in the Rorschach series so far...
HOW IT WAS MADE: This is a traditional brush painting. DISPLAY OPTIONS: This piece could be easily and affordably framed as it requires no matting or glass. Or it would also display nicely either on the wall or sitting on a small decorative easel just as it is, no framing needed. The image continues around the staple-free sides for a clean finished look. I can include a small plastic display stand with this painting for free if you request one at the time of payment.
