This is a personal piece.  A loved one told me to get a real job and make art as a hobby and that comment hurt me terribly but it also inspired me to take action and MAKE MY DREAMS REAL.  I stopped wasting time on the doubts expressed by others and started devoting myself to my own vision.  To my own power.  To my own future.

This tree has taken off for lands unknown and I wish her the best.

This painting has gorgeous layers of color and texture.  I used a variety of tools to weather the canvas, to scratch and abrade it, to give it the feel of some special treasure that has traveled many miles and been well loved.  It is a lovely subtle piece and I hope it warms your home or office for years to come.

How Self Awareness was created.....   I applied texturing gel with natural sand around all sides of the canvas leaving just the center of the piece clear.  Then I used palette knives, brushes, and dental tools to created this beautiful rich image.

This piece was created on a stretched canvas primed with black acrylic gesso.  The sides do have staples, but they are completely hidden under acrylic texturing gel and paint.  This painting has finished sides and may be displayed unframed either directly on the wall or on a decorative display easel.  Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it required no matting or glass.
