This is such a lovely emotional piece.  With a warm calming light.  This painting inspires me.  It makes me want to be a better partner.  Paintings about closeness and romance and such are rare in my portfolio.  I am something of a lone wolf and have always been more comfortable painting lone subjects.  But once in a while I surprise myself.  And this is probably the most elegant relationship piece I have ever painted.

I would like for this painting to bring hope and renewed commitment to the home of a devoted couple out there.

How Shelter was created...  I used palette knives, wet brushes, dry brushes, and a soft cloth to create this luminous inspirational landscape.  Color was layered over the course of several weeks.  Some layers mixed wet, some were allowed to dry and some were applied and then rubbed off.  I used a tiny detail brush to paint those sweet trees and the words.

Shelter was painted on a large 8" x 24" professional quality gallery-wrapped canvas with deep 1.5" sides.  This piece would look wonderful displayed unframed directly on the wall.  Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it required no matting or glass.

He is my shelter.

And I am his.
