This unusual vibrant landscape feels a little like a stained glass window.  It also evokes fairytales and dreams and fables.  There is something timeless about a winding path, isn't there?  I love this bright hopeful scene.  And I am especially fond of that brave little home perched above it all.

The words in this piece read, ''I don't want a mansion or a palace, I just want peace and quiet and a view."  That is the truth.  We all get lost chasing the wrong rewards these days.  Expensive things don't heal the soul.  Quiet heals the soul.  Undisturbed nature heals the heart.  Time heals the psyche.

This comforting, inspired image was created to bring you perspective and a few soft daydreams.

How Simple was painted.....   After the deep red acrylic gesso primer dried, I used a variety of brushes as well as a dry soft cloth to apply many mottled layers of transparent color.  Once the land and sky were sufficiently built up, I used tiny detail brushes to paint the beautiful fine lines and the sweet little cottage and the words.

Simple was created on a professional quality gallery-wrapped canvas.  The staple-free sides have been painted.  This piece looks wonderful displayed unframed directly on the wall.  Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it required no matting or glass.

I don't want a mansion or a palace,

I just want peace and quiet and a view.
