This landscape is warm and comforting. A lovely image of closeness and sharing and devotion. That seems to be lit from within. This painting exudes peaceful comfortable love. Filled with delicate layers of color and neat unexpected textures. The trees are raised and textured, created with modeling paste and then painted. The land is raised slightly, created with fine sand suspended in a light acrylic gel. The words in this piece are painted in small faint sienna letters across the bottom and they read: I am so grateful for you. How So Grateful was created..... After the black gesso primer dried, I used palette knives to apply the sand mixture across the bottom of the panel and used my fingers to apply the modeling paste that would become the trees. I waited a day for that layer to full dry and then used wide soft brushes to create the underpainting. I layered and layered colors. Some were blended when wet with a soft cloth. And finally, I used tiny detail brushes to paint the tress and the words and a few key accents. So Grateful was painted on a rigid canvas panel. The edges of the panel have been painted, so this piece looks lovely displayed just as it is on a small stand or decorative easel. Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no glass or matting.
