I
love this painting. I love the expressive layers of paint, the
scratching through and the wildness of it. And I love that
special star reminding us that we NEED mystery. We need to be
exactly where we are. We are small and fragile and imaginative
and courageous for a reason. How Starlight was created... I used palette knives, paper towels, a soft cloth, my fingers, dental tools, and a variety of brushes to created this beautiful piece. Color was layered over the course of several days. I used a tiny detail brush to paint the accent lines, the lovely star, and the words.
(The image continues around the deep staple-free sides so you can display your new artwork unframed. This is a digital photo. The scans above and below are more accurate.) Starlight was painted on a large 9" x 12" professional quality gallery-wrapped canvas with deep 1.5" sides. This piece would look wonderful displayed unframed directly on the wall. Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it required no matting or glass.
