Tiny Art #408

Completed in 2007

1.9" x 2.4"

Acrylic paint on a thin wooden shape

(Enlarged to show detail.)

ABOUT THIS PIECE:  I bought a set of three tiny paintings about 10 years ago and I have been passionate about tiny art ever since. I love the intimacy of holding a work of art in the palm of my hand. I love how tiny art draws you in, begging to be studied. Whispering its story quietly to one viewer at a time. There is just something magical about tiny art.

Beginning in Summer 2004, I am creating a series of 1,000 unique miniature paintings, drawings, and sculptures. Each piece in the series will be numbered, signed and dated.

The subject matter of these new pieces will run the gamut, but I do expect to see all of my common themes appearing in miniature. Hopefully, I will discover some new directions as well. The only parameters that I have set are maximum dimensions of 3.5” square.

THE PROCESS:  Each of these pieces is a unique, hand-made, original work of art. As with my traditional work, I pay very close attention to composition, color use, line quality and lighting. I have not compromised my commitment to quality in any way. I have simply traded my usual brushes for really teeny ones and I am using some magnifying tools to keep me from going blind.

DISPLAY OPTIONS:  This painting looks wonderful shown on a small display stand. (I will include a  clear plastic display stand for free if your request it at the time of payment.) Or it can be easily and affordably framed.

This piece will be varnished for safe handling and will be packaged in a small velvet drawstring pouch.
YOUR NEW ARTWORK WILL BE SHIPPED FOR FREE via USPS First Class Mail within five business days of the time your payment clears. The back is unfinished. That is where I signed and dated the piece.
