ABOUT THIS PIECE: I love creating digitally. (You can learn more about that process in the next paragraphs.) I also find it so freeing to be able to add text in this way. These small ACEO pieces fit in the new rigid cases I found and display beautifully on the little plastic stands I offer. Making it simple and affordable to display groupings of these images without spendy framing if you like. Or you can choose to have your new art shipped untrimmed with wide white borders, perfect for framing. I am filled with renewed inspiration when I contemplate this series, the possibilities now open to me with my amazing giclee printer and the gazillion images floating through my head. It is all very thrilling. I cannot wait to see what new pieces will unfold. Digital art is a whole new world. None of the old rules apply. These are original works of ark created from my imagination. But I used high-resolution digital scans of existing piece as the raw material - as my paint - to bring these beautiful rich layered pieces to life. I used those scans to create vibrant expressive compositions. And in some cases I then added words as well. I often wind up refining these images one pixel at a time. Because these new pieces are digital, the finished product is a giclee fine art print. But those prints are not considered reproductions. They are originals. In the case of my new Tiny Art digital pieces. I promise I will only make ONE single print of each piece ever. So they are indeed one of a kind originals. I sign and title the piece on the back by hand. All finished digital art pieces are printed with archival giclee inks on acid-free paper and they are graded to last longer than you or I will without fading, so long as they are not displayed in direct sunlight. They are on premium luster paper designed specifically for artists and photographers creating giclee fine art prints. I reserve all rights to my original images and may choose to print this piece as a card or on merchandise in the future, but I will never offer this as a giclee again. This is a one of a kind piece. ABOUT THIS SERIES: I bought a set of three tiny paintings about 10 years ago and I have been passionate about tiny art ever since. I love the intimacy of holding a work of art in the palm of my hand. I love how tiny art draws you in, begging to be studied. Whispering its story quietly to one viewer at a time. There is just something magical about tiny art. Beginning in Summer 2004, I am creating a series of 1,000 unique miniature paintings, drawings, and sculptures. Each piece in the series will be numbered, signed and dated. The subject matter of these new pieces will run the gamut, but I do expect to see all of my common themes appearing in miniature. Hopefully, I will discover some new directions as well. The only parameters that I have set are maximum dimensions of 3.5” square. THE PROCESS: Each of these pieces is a unique, hand-made, original work of art. As with my traditional work, I pay very close attention to composition, color use, line quality and lighting. I have not compromised my commitment to quality in any way. I have simply traded my usual brushes and tools for really teeny ones and I am using some magnifying aids to keep me from going blind. DISPLAY OPTIONS: This piece looks wonderful shown alone or in a grouping of similar pieces. You might want to frame your new artwork to protect your investment. One affordable way to frame these unique pieces would be to purchase standard-sized frames at your local home store and then bring the frames and the artwork together to a custom-framer. Ask the framer to mat the art to fit the frame. These pieces would look lovely with a neutral mat and a low-profile frame. This painting also looks nice on a small display stand. ***NEW*** I am super excited about a new discovery. Well, it may not be new to you, but it is new to me and it is entirely liberating. I found rigid plastic cases for paper ACEO Tiny Art pieces that protect the art and do not cause color distortion as some plastics will. These crystal clear cases protect the art so I can handle it all I like with my grubby little fingers and never cause damage! Woo hoo. Better yet, they act as inexpensive frames if you choose to display your art on small display stands. Here is what I mean...
This artwork will arrive protected between sheets of sturdy cardboard. YOUR NEW ARTWORK WILL BE SHIPPED FOR FREE via USPS First Class Mail within five business days of the time your payment clears.
PLEASE NOTE: This
piece will be trimmed down and shipped inside a rigid plastic case
like those shown above UNLESS you request a different arrangement at
the time of payment. If you plan to frame this work of art,
you might request that it be shipped untrimmed with a white border.
That will make it easier for the person doing the matting and
framing. |
