ABOUT THIS PIECE:  This is a really expressive little piece.  I like how the dove took shape around that loosely applied swatch of white.  I also like the word Sacrifice.  I think too often in today's world we view that word negatively.  But the act of sacrificing is an act of faith.  Giving up something in the present for the better good of our future selves or our fellow creatures.  What a beautiful gesture.
